SEOUL - South Korean builders who received housing construction agreements worth 20 billion US dollars, together with Saudi Arabia said on Monday it was confident the project would go forward despite the impact falling oil prices on the country's national budget in the Persian Gulf.

Under the agreement, a memorandum of understanding was signed in Seoul last week, the three associations parties will build 100 000 housing units and related infrastructure for the new town near the capital Riyadh in 10 next year.

The association includes the company's two South Korean firm Daewoo Engineering & Construction and Hanwha Engineering & Construction and a local construction company Saudi Pan Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
